Right now 50,000 children are being home educated in the UK and that figure is rising by 80 per cent every year. The staggering increase means that a diverse section of parents are turning their back on traditional schooling and going their own way. There are two main types of home educators – radical unschoolers, who follow the child’s lead, and regular home schoolers, who follow a curriculum at home.
Home education is another alternative if your child doesn’t learn well in a school environment. Children may learn best in a familiarised environment that is structured and creates flexibility.
